Brady - July 2016
I just wanted to let you know we lost our Brady on July 17, 2016, to cancer. He was a sweet and loving spirit and he will always remain with us. We miss him greatly and know he is running and playing with his friends and squirrels at the rainbow bridge just waiting for us. I love you Brady and miss you everyday. Mom

Brody
Dear Brody, I only knew you for a few minutes, your last minutes before going to the bridge. My heart is aching still and so I'll write a tribute to you. I was just driving home down the same road I drive daily, when I saw you and your brother lying on the side of the road. You were both very hurt, but still with us. Thankfully, the man on the motorcycle stopped too. He went to help JC and I stayed with you. You lay motionless while I talked to you and stroked your sweet face. Your brown eyes were so sad as you looked at me. I kept telling you what a good boy you must have been and asked you to hang on while I called the phone number on your tag. But your breaths were shallow and short. In just minutes your eyes no longer saw me , your pain was gone ... you went swiftly to the bridge. Your mom and dad were devastated when I went to their door. Your toys were there and your big water bowl too. They came with me to see you one more time, and to also help JC get to the hospital. The man on the motorcycle kept JC alive by keeping pressure on his severe wounds. Brody, I'm sure the big van didn't mean to hit you, but I don't know why they didn't stop to help us. Some humans just don't understand. At least I know you were very loved on this earth, and I am glad I was with you to comfort you on your way to the bridge. Everyone will miss your beautiful retriever smile.

Brooke Beagle 9/18/89-6/4/04
Someone said that Brooke's heart, even though she was a beagle, was closest to a basset. Brooke might not agree with that, she always thought bassets were "special needs" beagles. She was a gracious hostess for numerous foster bassets who came to live in her home. She taught each one that there were rules, and some were her rules, and some were just life rules. She was intent on seeing that each basset learned them before they went along to a forever home. That was part of her legacy. One of her enduring ways of teaching her fosters was by tugging on their ears, especially around mealtime. I will always remember that about her, and miss her sweet kisses the most. You are my heart, Brooke. You have been, from the first moment I held you, and will be forever. I love you, Momma Wen
