If you have it in your heart to adopt that "not quite" perfect pet....but know that in doing so, you are saving one who may otherwise have been tossed aside, then Katy may be your girl.
   Katy will not be one's immediate "lap dog"...her trust issues will have you measuring success in weeks and months, not days. She'll do best in a quiet, stable home. She   needs a fenced yard and routines, especially until she feels comfortabl e and trusts her humans. She can/and has used a doggie door.

    Feb.1 will be her sixth month with me.  In the beginning, she'd move away when I'd come close - now I can sit with her/lay with her for some lovin' when she's in her "safe" spot. (Currently it's on my bed!) She's become playfull in the morning when the alarm first goes off; she'll jump up on the bed and has even come up and given me a lick. Starting in January, she's been staying on the bed when I go in at night, allowing some cuddle time.  Once I'm up though, her nerves/caution kicks back in. 
   She is the sweetest girl. I have yet to hear her bark.   Her fur is sooooo soft, and she has a bushy tail just begging to be stroked. She is healthy, mostly housetrained (She will go on doggie pads. ) and crate trained.  

She will be submissive to any dogs already in the house (I have two and my beagle is obviously her preferred buddy. He is nervous and shy too.)
