Sub (Hoagie as his foster caregivers call him) is a very sweet, gentle boy. He is very shy although he likes to be petted and sitting on the couch next to someone. At times he shies away from people approaching him, but he does come up to us. Inside the house he comes up to people easier than if he is outside. If he sees other dogs getting attention, he is more likely to approach people. He would do best in a home where people are home with him often. Hoagie is housetrained, and he has figured out the dog door. He does howl outside when he catches a scent and will run around with his nose to the ground. When walking on a leash, he has his nose to the ground almost the whole time. He does pull, but not enough to knock a person over. Hoagie gets along really well with the other dogs in the house and will cuddle up with them in a dog bed. He loves going in and out of the house with the pack. He has no resource guarding and he has not barked in the house even though one of the other beagles in the house can be loud. Hoagie is not crate trained, but has not been destructive in the home. He does like to take dog toys to the back yard, but is surprised when they squeak. You have to admit, he is beautiful. He is such a sweetheart and Hoagie will make you happy if you adopt him.
